Premature babies with low birth weight (preemie) will usually be given "training" during the transition period that is able to suck breastmilk directly. Before, the baby is given a tiny tube through ASI (Mother Milk Water = Air Susu Ibu) or the lapse of that put in the mouth. Once considered capable, they will be given a bottle with breastmilk, so it can suck dot practice, before finally able to suck breastmilk directly from the mother.
During this time many experts concerned that the use of dot in a transition period that will reduce the ability of putting the baby to suck his mother's breast. However, this concern was refused by the results of research conducted by a team of researchers from the Women's and Children's Hospital, North Adelaide, South Australia, led by dr. Camel T. Collins.
From 319 infants who were breastfed preemie with 4 kinds of ways (using a cup with and without dot, using a bottle of milk with and without the dot), which is published in the British Medical Journal 17 June 2004 edition, referred to the baby - preemie babies who were breastfed drinking using dot , not at all indicate the difficulties in breastfeeding suck putting directly from his mother after they leave the hospital.
As much 73% of those previously using the bottle with dot, indicating the ability to suck in a good putting with ASI. Camel asserted, the dot on the baby - preemie baby is one way that "safe" to "save" the baby born less than 34 weeks.
